The adventure begins

Our new to us boat is going to start its journey tomorrow from Michigan to Texas. Should arrive some time on Friday. Thought I would get a head start on the title transfers and it has been an eye opening experience.

Researched the boat and motor requirements and have everything I need except a tracing of the motor number. Seemed a little strange to require a paper tracing of a number in this day and age. No big deal just wait until the boat gets here and take care of it.

The trailer is handled by a different agency and I heard it was just like getting a car license renewal. I was surprised to discover I need a trailer inspection, a certified weight ticket, have the VIN personal verified, obtain a bond and then go back to get the license. Go to five different agencies, three of which will require having the trailer with me.

Still having a great time just have spend time a little differently than expected.

Anyone have recommendations for a trailer inspection or a boat service place in the DFW area?

Just realized I need to go figure out how to post a picture.

Hey You Two,

Congratulations. WOW great job. Not quite a month since we went out through Cattle Pass and around the islands. You are off to a good start. Now get all the legal and regulatory stuff done and you can get down to enjoying your retirement investment. Wahooo. Looking forward to those pictures, and to seeing you back at Friday Harbor next May 18.
