Our new to us boat is going to start its journey tomorrow from Michigan to Texas. Should arrive some time on Friday. Thought I would get a head start on the title transfers and it has been an eye opening experience.
Researched the boat and motor requirements and have everything I need except a tracing of the motor number. Seemed a little strange to require a paper tracing of a number in this day and age. No big deal just wait until the boat gets here and take care of it.
The trailer is handled by a different agency and I heard it was just like getting a car license renewal. I was surprised to discover I need a trailer inspection, a certified weight ticket, have the VIN personal verified, obtain a bond and then go back to get the license. Go to five different agencies, three of which will require having the trailer with me.
Still having a great time just have spend time a little differently than expected.
Anyone have recommendations for a trailer inspection or a boat service place in the DFW area?
Just realized I need to go figure out how to post a picture.
