Suzuki DF70 - Trim Sender Assy.

Has anyone replaced the sender unit for the trim gauge on a Suzuki DF70 or similar 4-Stroke? I had one replaced by a local shop recently and they claimed 5 hours labor. This seems excessive for just a sender unit but wanted check on similar experiences. Thanks.

The sender is held on by 2 screws and 1 plug in 2 wire clip. Takes a bout 10 minutes. But.......they may have had to remove the trim/tilt ram assembly to do it, which can either be easy, if all fasteners are well lubbed and come out easily, or hard, if the fasteners are stuck and require a lot of penetrating fluid, heat, and time, to break them loose. If you have access to a service manual you could find the section that spells out the procedure to do it. Usually the more accomplished and experienced shops can do things much faster than the less experienced ones. It does sound excessive though. Ron
