Suzuki DF40 Problems

I have a Suzuki DF40 and it keeps blowing the 30amp fuse in the upper left part of the motor(if your in the boat looking back at the motor). It was running fine until last trip out about a mile out of the dock it just died while running at 5,000 rpms. It had been running for about 8 hours all day with no problems. Now if i put a new fuse in it starts up and runs for about 10 seconds then blows the 30 amp fuse again. My guess is a short somewhere but I can't seem to find it.

Definitely a short, best place to start is with every visible wire. Take care to look at the bottom of the wire as well. Some years ago I had a short and could not find it...turns out it was a wire right on top of the engine...bottom of wire was melted through but there was of course no evidence of this looking at the top of the wire and I did not notice anything when I ran my fingers along the wire.

Good luck....
