Sticky Stuff

Just finished installing a bilge pump in my (new to me) 1988 16' Angler.

When I got ready to mount the pump it self, I thought, "The hull looks awfully thin there. Not wanting to accidentally drill any holes through the bottom I used some industrial sealant to stick the (snap off base) of the pump into the sump. Later on I used it to stick some wires to a bulkhead where I couldn't attach a clamp.....This stuff is great! A Canadian friend had given me the tail end of a tube as a sample last summer and it's been sitting on my tool bench since then. I e-mailed him last night and asked him to bring a tube down at Thanksgiving. It's called "Dominion Sure Seal". :thup *Looked it up and it's made in the U.S.

Hi Dave,

I had just been looking to see where Rochester is. Used to have some cousins out in Oakville. Don't know where they are now.

This is the site. http://www.dominionsureseal.com/dealers ... ion=submit

I thought the manufacturer was in the U.S. Anyway, my Canadian friend says they're using something even better now and he's going to bring me a tube of it. What I found I liked the most was the consistency of the stuff. It's very thick. Looks like silicone, but smells of naptha, rather than amonia and says it can be painted.

Sorry Dave,

Still getting used to how the "Hot Spots" on this board work.

The stuff is where you were looking, under "Sealants and Adhesives" the last item on page three.

Capn Jack - Rochester is six to seven miles east of Oakville on US-12. I don’t really live in Rochester, just have a Rochester Zip code. I live on Michigan Hill, a few miles south of Rochester.

La Conner is really a nice fishing/water front town. I have been through it a few times by boat when I go to the Bellingham C-Brat get together.
