OK, Here are some comments. about what I would need in the way of customization for this forum to make it work as I envision.
1. First, I assume it is not possible to have subtopics, is it? If it is, then I am wondering if it would be a good idea to have, for example, a topic of U and a subtopic of "United States Coast Guard" and posts within that subtopic such as "Boarding"?
2. Can we force an alphabetical sorting of topics so that it reads A, B, C, etc.? Then at the end, or somehow, have a place for people to submit URLs and the subject they see them addressing, for inclusion in the FAQ?
3. Can we make all of the topics (except possibly the final, submission topic, read-only?
4. Can we suppress my .sig in the FAQ?
I think that will get us started. You can see how I have created topics of B, C and U, and entries for each, and how creating those relates to the requests above.
