2003 Cruiser barn find. $42k

On the hard last 8-years. I’ve had it the last 6 and never splashed it. Original owner had it fully serviced, than parked for 2 years in Tucson. It deserves a nice home. Green trim, like new upholstery. I also have a 22 that has also sat for 6 years. Too many toys, too little time! I got a call from a friend with a friend that wanted a 25. So I took off the cover, cleaned it up, and test fired the motors. The Honda 130 (277 hrs) would not fire. Cleaned the f.i. Pump, drew clean fuel from a jug and presto! Electric start 9.9 started first pull. That’s because I didn’t know it was as an electric start. Duh!

The original owner set this boat up for Baja with all the bells and whistles. Stainless kayak rack from housetop to stern w/bolt-on construction. Read: it will come off easy and clean if you don’t want it. Custom rain and shade covers. All the 25 stuff, toilet, mascerator, hot water, etc. autopilot, windlass and am installed WATERMAKER.

Trailer is a tandem King torsion bar suspension, discs on both axles with 2 SPARES W/SPINDLES! Gotta love Baja.

I’ve priced this at $42k to reflect this is a project for a DYI guy. What’s wrong; Mainly it hasn’t been used in 8 years. I did prove out both motors, they run perfectly and look new. I put in a new battery. I started rewiring years ago. The former wiring was a mess and most was removed. Things like the fridge, winch, watermaker, bilge pumps, and macerator were working prior to storage, but not powered up now. A complete service on the motors and trailer was done right before storage. Everything <should> Work, but......?

The fuel tank concerns me. Sitting for 8 years. I would remove it for a thorough cleaning before going on an adventure. You could make the Racor do the work, but....? Also, the cockpit sole is spongy. These are known to be problematic, poor fastener bedding etc., but a common boatyard fix. IF I was doing it, I would put in a removable sole to allow access to all the stuff under there, and allow easy future replacement.

I checked out the trailer bearings and they are good to go. The tires look great, but we all know they are way too old, so I will put 4 new tires on it, on my dime, before it leaves my driveway.

That looks like a really good deal. I would look a the water pump if it has been sitting that long.

Yes, New impellers are in order. Sourced them and they are in stock at my local Honda dealer.

This wont be on the market long. Id be buyer if you were closer to Florida and I didn't even know I was in the market for a 25. Good luck with the sale!

Both spares were shabby, so the trailer now has 6 new
Tires.

Vessel was on hold for an out of state buyer, but is now again available as of 3/18/2021.
