While halibut fishing last week I caught a 6' sleeper shark by the tail in 155' of water and 5 knot current in the Cook Inlet.
Let me tell you that was a real struggle but I got him to the surface, got the hook out of him and let it go. I did not know what a sleeper shark was until then but after a little Googling I found out all about them.
