It looks like there is a short open season for shrimp in Washington. Four days only. May 15th,19th, 22nd, & the 26th. I have never been shrimpin before, but if its good enough for Forrest Gump, thought I'd give it a go.
Hear tell that Hoods Canal is the place to be.
There doesn't seem to be any conflict with other local gatherings on thoses dates. So I'm throwing this out there to see if there is any interest in getting together on one of those weekends.

I have to quarrel a little - it depends where you are. Here is a cut and paste taken 30 seconds ago from the WDFW Area 7 (San Juan Islands) regs:

SHRIMP(all species): Opens the third Saturday in April (4/17/04) Closes when quota is attatined or, 15 October 2004, whichever comes first.

Your right on the dates. :embarrased I was checking area 12 (Hood Canal). I'll have to take a closer look at the sport fishing regulations, all 124 pages.
Its getting so you need an attorney with you to interpret the regs before you slip a worm on a hook. :?
