Reservations Available for SBS/CBGT Next Week!

Unfortunately, my doctor found out late last Friday that my heart is out of synch again, and I'm going to have to undergo some testing and procedures this next week that will make it impossible for me to attend the bash in Seattle.

I've debated just going anyway and taking care of things when I got back, but that approach could be pretty problematic, especially if I had a stroke while driving. Two years ago I had the same fibrillation combined with appendicitis on the trip home from Seattle, and would up in the hospital for five days.

After much personal debate, I've decided that I'd rather spend the time here typing posts than laying on my back trying to figure out escape plans from the Big House for Medical Maladies and Sick Sailors.

The good news is that I have a hotel reservation for a studio unit at the already booked up Hawthorn Suites for Thursday through Sunday that someone else can assume, at least I think so. If anyone wants to do so, I think we can call Linda at the Stanwood Travel Desk and she can arrange the switchover. I'll have to cancel one way or another on Monday or Tuesday, PM me if you're interested.

I also have a reservation for the boat trip on Friday. See the Boat Show thread for details. This is non-refundable, and someone can have it for free if it can be transferred. PM me if interested. I'll give priority to the person who assumes the hotel reservation, otherwise, first come, etc....

I'm really disappointed that I can't make the show, but know you'll all have a good time and lots of fun together. See ya' next year!

Dagnabit Joe, that kind of takes the shine off me and Roger kicking your butt with the info on that other thread. Getting checked out and a tuneup is for sure the best choice. I hope they get it taken care of and you get the extended warranty.

Dagnabit Joe, I was sure hoping to meet you! You gotta take care of #1 though, so I don't blame you a bit! Already got all reservations/tickets but I'm sure someone else will take you up on them!

Take care of yourself and keep us posted on the prognosis! :love

BTDT, Joe, as you know. Taking rat poison (Warfarin) is probably in your future now that you've aged a bit and especially if the atrial fibrillation can't be kicked into synch either by a timed defribrillation shock or a cardiac ablation. Better than getting a stroke though. One of those could seriously impact your time at the helm and at the wheel. Nothing is scarier, AFAIC.

Our thoughts are with ya.

Oh come on now, he ain't that old. Besides, I thought that was only legal in Oregon.

Joe, real bummer! Hope all works out okay - was sure looking forward to our face-to-face at the SBS. Rat poison ain't all that bad once you get used to it. Has kept me going for years!!

Prayers help too!! Ya got mine.

Dusty

Everyone-

Thanks for all your well wishes!

David-

For simplicity's sake, rather than ship it, I'll let you give it to some other deserving C-Brat this year, then get another one from you next year! It's easier that way!

Have fun everbody!

shoot and Hellfire.... I was hopin' to meet you. You've made the right choice and we'll keep you updated online from the Hawthorn. Take Care. Maybe I can send you a smelt care package. C.W.

Joe, Sure sorry to hear you are missing the big party. It just won't be the same without you. We were really looking forward to getting to meet the Sea Wolf. OK, we'll do it next time. Mean time, Our prayers are with you, and once you get into the checkout shop, tell 'em you want the 100,000 mile version, you've got boating to do, people to see and places to go, and posts to make. We are still looking forward to seeing them, and to seeing you soon.

Thanks for everyone's well wishes!

Due to time constraints, I've canceled the hotel reservation this morning, Monday the 21st. The boat trip reservation has been taken. Thanks!

Joe,
How untimely for a medical problem to arise, however like you alluded to, it is best to care for it with your own medical professionals who know your history. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and keep the postings on the site coming our wqy.

Joe - Sorry to hear about your heart problems. I have one too, due to a heart attack in 1994. I'm now going on my second dual chamber pace maker'defibrillator. I haven't been shocked for over three years. My wife calls it my Sears Die Hard Battery. The docs can do amazing things with regulating atrial fib. I can't give you medical advice other than to seek the best cardiologist you can find and then don't be afraid of second or third opinions. Yellowstone

Sea Wolf Joe, we'll miss you! I wish you well and look forward to your continued posts and likely availability next year at this time.
