Pump outs at Everett SUCK

Everett marina is near our home, so we use it quite a bit. This past Thursday, we come in and I tell the admiral we need to pump out the holding tank. We tie up between the Jetty Island ferry and some pos Bayliner with no one around, and I walk up to the unit.

Lo and behold, it's missing the rubber, funnel-shaped adapter on the valve end, so obviously, it's not going to create a vacuum. Ergo, we ain't emptying our tank. Then I noted the marina "provided" an entire 3' of rinse hose at the pump! How generous. Not.

 :amgry

Mind you the same pump out is in working order, probably 20% of the time...

And they wonder why people just pump out overboard via their macerator...

This has been an on going problem for years. Everett can not seem to get the pump working let alone all the parts hooked up. I find I works about 1 out of 5 times I go there. and no one in the Marina knows whats up or really cares.

FWIW, We go over to the guest moorage south of that dock and hook up the "portable" roll around cart that plugs into dock. Always works for us.
The one you speak of is at times troubling.

I think you mean that that they DON'T suck.

Maybe John is on to something. If, in your "scathing email" you said their pumpout sucks, they may have figured you were complimenting them.

Since I don't use the pumpouts I don't pay a lot of attention to where they are, but I would be willing to betthat there is so e state agencythat might have enjoyed a copy of that email. I know that the "BOATER'S BLUE BOOK" and also the Washington State boaters info booklet has a list of pumpouts that they include with there other useful info.

Might be worth a repeat email with a "cc" to those places, asking for a responce.

Sorta sucks that they advertise an inoperative service.
