Posting to forum from album

Can't seem to post to forum from album using Android tablet. Tried
with no luck. Don't know any other way, any other suggestions?

Thanks,

What you want is the image ADDRESS, not the link. It has to end in .JPG or .JPEG, not .HTM or .HTML. It is not OS dependent, and it works every time IF the image is in fact on the internet (could be in your album here, Photobucket, or anywhere else) and you have copied its address!

You bring the image up in a large format, not thumbnail. Then right click on it. Then take a moment to see what gets the image address.

Ok, I just tried same process on a Galaxy Note (android) and on Desktop, and looks like there is one additional step needed when on Android...

On your desktop (windows) you can normally right click on the image and "copy image location", then paste the address between the image tags as described by Pat.

However, this option does not appear on my Android Samsung Note 3 when you tap-and-hold on the image, there is only the option to "copy link"....

BUT, on my android there is also an option to "View image" when you tap-and-hold on it, and if you select this, it brings up the image on it's own browser screen. From there you can highlight the image location directly from the browser's address bar, copy to clipboard, then paste it into your message in between the image tags as per normal procedure.

Hope this works for others as well.

Mike I need to copy your process, to see if I can work it.
Pat I guess I don't know how to right click in the Samsung Tablet.

Nope. Did not work on mine. No option to view image. Nor can I get it to open properties to let me know the file type.

Harvey, I use iPhones and Macs, but have a Samsung tablet. I am charging it right now. I will figure it out and walk you through the steps. The functional equivalent of a Windows right click or Mac Ctrl-click on an Android table is usually going to be something like tap once to select, then press and hold to bring up a context menu. The part you can count on is that you have to copy the image address and then paste it in between the IMG tags!

Also, like MikeR says, if you can "view' the image in a separate window, copying the address directly from the address bar would work in lieu of a context menu to "copy image location" or "copy image address."

We'll get you there!

P.S. The motor mount you gave me fits my Alaska Series just right! Thanks!

Posted with my Samsung Galaxy Tab4.

There might be another way, but then, why expect Android to work like Windows or Mac OSX? This is a more detailed explanation of MikeR's method.

Navigate to the picture in your album. This is the thumbnail.

Tap the thumbnail to display the picture.

Press and hold the picture until a context text menu comes up.

Choose "Open in a new tab" or something like that.

Press and hold the address bar in the new tab. This is the actual image address or image location. "Copy" appears, so tap it. The image address can now be pasted into a post.

Go back to your post. Click the img button, click "paste," click the img button again.

Click "Preview" to prove that it worked!

If this seems clumsy and complicated, that is because it is. For whatever reason, a direct context menu item for "Copy image location" was not implemented by the geniuses at Google right after displaying the picture by tapping on the thumbnail OR on pressing and holding the picture in the new tab. IF there is a way, I can't find it! If anybody else can, please share it!
