Just received the nicest postcard from Al & Karen. They're finally cruising Maine in their new boat. Just sailed from Beverly, ME and stayed the first night in a quiet cove (Isle of Shoals?). The first boat they saw was a C-Dory "Tidal Wave". They continued on the next day to South Freeport, ME and went exploring with their dinghy into a nearby cove (Merepoint) where they met "Miss Ginna", a 22' C-Dory. The owners Dr. Robert and Bonnie Story also know the owners of "Halcyon" which Al & Karen recalled meeting at the C-Dory Open House. Small world!

Al & Karen also mentioned that they're enjoying that area of Maine; that it's very much like the San Juans but the crab pots are all lobster pots and the boats are a bit more traditional. The homes along the shore are also quite unique. While not doing much email yet, they're planning on heading to Booth Bay?, ME; that they're having a great time - all is going well and "Hi to all C-Dorys"

what a great couple they are, glad to hear they're having a good time. At one time they where looking into cannal cruising in Europe, I wonder if they're working their way over there. What kind of boat do they have now?

It's a sailboat but I don't remember the brand. I think 36 feet.

They've realized a retirement that many only daydream about. Thanks for the update, Ruth and Joe.

Thanks for the update. So glad to hear that there sailing adventure is working well for them, and appreciate their keeping up contact with the C-Dory pub. Give them a big HI from us. El and Bill
