Password tyranny

Is there some reason I can't use my own password? Unless I am missing something, I cannot figure out how to get rid of the suggested "strong password". Which may indeed be "strong", but this is just a forum so who cares? There is just no way I can remember these gibberish randomized passwords.

You should be able to use any old thing you want. There are no requirements for style or format.

Click on your name next to the Welcome at the top of the right column on the home page. There you can edit things on your profile, including the password.

Yes, I have tried that. The website "suggests" a strong password and I can't delete the suggested password or enter my own. Maybe there is a way but I haven't figured it out.

Just tried again. As soon as I click on the new password box or tab to it from the old password box it inserts a "strong password" into both new password fields. I can't delete it or type anything there.

Maybe it's a Mac thing, I dunno.

That's just weird. I use a Mac also but use Chrome for my browser. Maybe it is a Safari thing?

Anyhow, I sent you a PM to see if we can get it straightened out.
