Parking

Does anyone have any input on where I could leave my truck and boat trailer for a month or so. While we boat around the San Juan's , Gulf Islands and other points north?
Also a launch area very close by would sure help me out.
Will be our first big trip since getting my new heart valve installed.
Thank you.

Hi Dave,
The Bellingham launch site in their long term parking area would be my choice. Several C-Brats have left their tow rigs there for an extended period of time with no problem. However, Halcyon the only C-Brat that I know of that had a problem there.....(their boat trailer was stolen and later recovered in bit of a mess.....their insurance pulled through for them however as I remember, but it did create an inconvience for them). I've left my rig there for a week at a time several times with no problem.
I know that Halcyon's experience leaves a lot to be desired, but personally of any other choices that are available, I would stay with Bellingham. (Additionally, it is free parking).
Others will likely chime in. Maybe even Halcyon will comment if they would park long term there again.

Bellingham. We just returned from almost six weeks on the water, left our truck there, no cost, no problem. Just go to the main marina office, fill out a form, get a form to leave on the seat of the vehicle, park in the overflow lot and you're on your way. Note, this last Sunday everything was filled up with eager crabbers so you might check to see if there is any room.

Just a note, Halcyon (El and Bill), have parked at Bellingham longterm this year. We were parked next to their truck. They were out a few weeks.

Port of Anacortes (Cap Sante Boat Haven) charges $5.00 per day for boat trailers, free for your truck, very convenient. Round trip on their sling lift is about $35. I use a storage lot just out of town for $30 month. Washington Park on the West end of Town has a ramp with parking, not sure of the rates. Probably less than Cap Sante Boat Haven. It is a state park, someone else may have local knowledge or you can google the Washington State Park web site.

no long term parking at washington park. I think it was a three day limit. we always use twin bridges state launch under the high way. never a problem but $5 a day. I dont like the long haul to bellingham but its free and if you are headed north of the san juans its a good place to start. if you are just staying in the san juans or the southern part of the islands then cap sante or sky line would be the best bet. Dont know what skyline charges.

We're at Bellingham, Squim Marina. They have free long term parking for a trailer with truck attached. Gravel lot, just across from the launch ramp.

Dave,

If you don't mind going across the Strait of Juan, I can help you out in Sequim. Launch and recover at John Wayne is $9, and certain parking is free.

Be good to see you again.

We launched at Blaine. Low key, great ramp and parking. $5.00 round trip. Free parking. Since we were going to be gone for two months, I stored the truck and trailer at Blaine Marine. It's about 300 yards from the launch ramp parking lot. $70.00/month for the truck and trailer combo. Secure storage, no problems.

Yes, we are parked long term in Bellingham. Our trailer was stolen a few years ago from the lot (we should not have left it unhooked from the truck, albeit padlocked). We did not claim insurance, since the police recovered it (somewhat modified). We had already bought a replacement, so gave the original to a good C-Dory friend who needed a dual axle.

We think Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham is a fine place to launch and leave truck and trailer.
