Need help From 24 TomCat EZLoader Owners

I'm working with an engineer in WA from EZLoader to try and work out some of my trailer problems. See http://www.tomcat.netfirms.com for photos. (Still waiting for admin to set up my album on this site :) )

Trailer tongue loading is one of the problems we're working on. I would sure appreciate it if any TomCat 24 owners out there would measure from the back of their most rearward bunk to the transom of the boat and post or IM the measurement to me.

I've moved my boat and hitch system further back on the trailer and have 18" to 20" at this point.

Thanks for any help!!!

John

John:
From the rear edge of the bunk to the bottom edge of my transom isn't more than 6 inches. Sounds like your boat is sitting too far forward. I can send you exact distances when I get back to town tonight if you would like. James

I've got a Tragic Tilt. I know your request was brand specific, so I measured from the midpoint between the front and back axles to a perpendicular line with the rearward most part of the transom. Its 8' 4 1/2"s. This should give you some reference as far as the weight fore or aft of the axles.
Mine tows well. I think we spoke of this before, but make sure when the rig is hitched to your tow vehicle, that the trailer frame is equal distance from the ground to the frame at the front and rear.
If its causing the truck to squat, check the tongue weight to makes sure its no more than 10% of total. If thats okay, then beef up your suspension on the truck. If its to heavy at the tongue, I don't think you have much choice but to move it back.
