Looking for a C-Dory Cruise in Seattle Area

Hi C-Brats,

Rick from Maine & Carol are coming to visit our daughter in Seattle next week. I’d really appreciate getting a day cruise in a C-Dory some time between June 15th to June 21st. Is any C-Brat willing to give us a day cruise? Of course, I’ll reciprocate if any of you come to Maine and I’ll pay for fuel for our day cruise out there.

If any C-Brat is willing, please e-mail me at rstambaugh@maine.rr.com.

thanks, Rick from Maine

Hi C-Brats,

Wow! You Brats are fast. I got 2 e-mail replies with time stamps earlier than the message I posted!

Thanks to all who offered to help me ride a C-Dory. I hooked up with Roger ( the first offer I received) and am looking forward to my first cruise in the Seattle area.

Maybe I'll get to meet some of you while riding with Roger.

Thanks again, Rick from Maine

Rick - there is a 3 hour time difference between E and W sides of the country.... It'll be fun to take you out and I'm sure we'll find some good place to go for lunch in the area. Bring a camera...

Wow! This C-Brat site and Roger and Joyce came through for us, big time.

I asked for a day trip on a C-Dory this June while I was visiting my daughter in Seattle. In short order, 3 offers were made, before I announced that I had accepted the first offer for a ride. You C-Brats were quick in offering a day cruise for Carol & me.

Roger and Joyce of “SeaDNA” took us on a wonderful cruise. We started at the Port of Everett Marina. I’ve never seen such a large marina, and the covered docks are amazing. Believe me, there’s nothing like this in Maine. ( It’s so big it did take me a while to find Roger since I forgot to bring my cell phone – yeah, Dun, I’m telephonically challenged).

From that harbor we saw a tug pulling 3 large barges, with a baby tug separating out the barges. There’s nothing like that in Maine, either.

We rounded Whidbey Island ( with lots of Eagles) to Point No Point ( now, there’s a name you won’t see in Maine). The rocks near Colvos Rocks were covered with Harbor Seals. We have Harbor Seals in Maine, but nothing like this mob of seals.

We docked at Port Ludlow for lunch. I’d been eating Northwest seafood cuisine for the past 10 days, but the salmon at Port Ludlow was the best salmon I tasted.

The weather was clear and balmy with a beautiful view of Mt Baker on the way back. Puget sound was smooth, line a mirror in places, so Roger made good time in a C-Dory. I didn’t expect that!

Definitely, the highlight of our trip to the Northwest was our day cruise on SeaDNA. You can’t beat a C-Dory for a fun day. Roger and Joyce were wonderful C-Dory hosts, going out of their way to get us out on Puget Sound. I can't believe how many things Joyce had going on that weekend, but she and Roger still took the time to give us a wonderful cruise.

Thanks again Roger and Joyce, Rick from Maine
