Late model C-22 fuel tank question

Sneaks

I have a need to get behind my fuel tank to access the transom. Assuming I empty the tank, remove the front Starboard cover and release the strap, can it be lifted up and over the front strip and slid forward maybe 6-12" or so without messing with the hoses etc? Or must one unscrew the hold down strips and remove them as well?

Scale of 1-10, what's the difficulty rating for those of us who aren't as flexible as we used to be?

Thanks

Don,

I have removed my tanks several times. I have 2003 22' Cruiser. Simple answer to your question; no, you can not move the tanks forward without disconnecting the fill and vent hoses. Those hoses by the way are not easy to get off the tank. I usually disconnect them from the through deck fittings. It is quite a wrestling match. So on a scale of 1 to 10 in difficulty, for me it was a 6 or 7 due to the wrestling with the stiff fill hoses.

By the way, on mine you can not simply remove the front starboard cover. you have to unscrew the bottom cleat from the deck as the big vertical board is attached to the cleat from the inside where you can not get at the screws.

Good luck,

Jim

Thanks, Jim. That's what's great about the C-Dory sites. If there's something to be done on a C-Dory, somebody here has already done it.

Synergysm, ain't it great?
