Larry Cooper - Anytime Baby

It is with great sadness to announce that the C-Brats lost a good friend last Friday, Larry Cooper.

Many of you may remember Larry and Liz. They were the owners of Roger's former TomCat, renamed Anytime Baby. They joined in many C-Brat gatherings the past several years, including Pender Harbour 2014, the mini-gathering to Princess Louisa 2014, Friday Harbor 2014-15, and the mini-gathering to Desolation Sound in 2015 just to name a few. They sold Anytime Baby in 2016 to move to the Big Island Hawaii.

Larry was one of the funniest guys I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and probably the greatest story teller I've ever met. Larry could sure spin a yarn. He was a very knowledgeable boater and a great asset to have around while boating. He was always fun, full of life and one helluva guy.
Even though the time spent together with he and Liz didn't span a lot of years, we will always have very special memories of those times together.

His lovely wife Elizabeth (Liz) asked me to post the following message:

"Larry Cooper passed away in his wife's arms at home on Friday, April 7th after an extended illness. Larry was a United States Navy Veteran, known to be very generous and involved in various causes. He was a comedian, an adventurer, an extreme sportsman and a great cook. He loved rock and roll and tie dye as well as opera and dressing up. One of his greatest loves was riding his motorcycle with his wife on the back, enjoying the wind and the scents of nature. He was loved by many from very different walks of life and definitely lived according to the golden rule. His respect for people with special needs and challenges led him to become involved in various ventures that would bring awareness and support for these individuals. He loved history and had an incredible memory for detail. He used to say he was a virtual cornucopia of useless information.

His life on earth is over, but as he rushed through the pearly gates on his latest Harley.. a softail custom.. the smell of patchouli oil wafting behind him, it was clear he would be joining the angels in some dialogue about how certain things should be done..."

Rest in peace Larry. You will be greatly missed.

A life well lived. Rest in peace Larry. Condolences to Mrs. Cooper. Peter & Caryn- Thank you for posting this tribute to a fellow C-Brat. :rose

Peter, Thanks for sharing that from Liz. As you said, Larry was a spinner of yarn extraordinaire, and an accomplished boatman. though we didn't ever ride together, we did have some good bike related conversations and he was a wealth of knowledge there.

The trip into Desolation Sound with Larry and Liz and you and Caryn and the rest of the raft will remain a most memorable time.

Please pass condolences on to Liz and family.

Larry, RIP.

Thanks for the warm tribute, Peter and Caryn. Family gatherings won't be the same without him.

For anyone who might be interested - there will be a Celebration of Life held at the Twin Rivers on 7000 Maze Blvd. Modesto, CA. Sunday April 23rd at 1 pm. And, for any motorcyclist friends of Liz and Larry who might be in the area - there will also be a memorial ride on the 22nd, starting in Sonora. 100+ riders are expected.

He was indeed, a joker right up to the end. My sister shared this pic of him, taken just days before he passed. Nothing really slowed him down, ever.

Da Nag, My condolences to you and your family. Yes I believe Larry will be missed. You had me going there for a minute, I read Twin Rivers, and thought Twin Bridges, and thought it would be great place to ride over too, but I don't think I can make Modesto. Sorry, my loss.

He was a Navy vet, right? So are the riders from the "Patriot Guard"

Just read this post
I bought the Anytime Baby from Larry
I only met him in person once but talked with him on the phone lots of times
He was a really great guy and loved to talk.. When I picked up the boat we talked a lot about the boat and everything else besides the boat.
I could tell from our brief meeting he was a real character and a great guy.
I was stunned to hear this news.
Rest In Peace Larry
Sorry for your loss Liz
I have kept the same name on the boat after Larry told me where the name came from
He will be missed by many
Troy
