How are 22' ANGLERs?

I'm thinking of looking at a 22' ANGLER vs a 25' Cruiser based on the weight and size of the 25s i have seen. I didn't realize that the ANGLER had a hard bulkhead option. I liked the 25 Cruiser because it had more room in the back than the 22', but i really didn't need all that cabin. I liked the size of the 22' Cruiser, but not the room in the back.

I have not actually seen a 22' ANGLER but will be looking at one this weekend. Any comments good/bad on the 22' ANGLER?

We really like our 2007 Angler. My take: I would not consider getting it without the hard back/glass door unless your sole use is fishing. The Angler is a far simpler boat whose strengths are: fishing/crabbing, hauling gear and day cruising. Don't get the Angler if your plan is to regularly overnight on board: it lacks the sink, stove/counter, convertible dinette, fridge, etc. that can be put on the cruiser. Get the Angler if you have enough boating experience to know for sure that you won't be overnighting on board. We have a Summer home and use our boat to haul people and gear across Rosario Strait between Anacortes and the San Juan Islands, as well as fishing/crabbing and occasional day trips. I had a 22 Cruiser previously and never used the stove or sink in 5 years' ownership. I really wanted the extra space and functionality in the cockpit. On the Cruiser, if you have a cooler and a few totes and some gas cans, etc. in the cockpit you will not be able to close the door This is a disadvantage to my first mate, who gets chilly in any weather under 70 degrees. Too, a crowded cockpit makes fishing and docking stressful. The Angler is also a bit lighter overall and handles stern weight a bit better than the Cruiser. That said, I still felt it necessary to add Permatrims to my engines to lift the stern up and level the ride out. Another option for you might be the 23 Venture. Its cockpit definitely feels bigger than the 22 Cruiser's but you still have the option of the stove, sink, etc. inside. Good luck with whatever you choose. Mike.
