Joyce and I will have the Tomcat in Secret Cove this weekend. We'll be shrimping and hanging out on the boat gathering sunshine. Any brats in the area should stop by. If I know you're coming, I might even cook dinner - especially if I catch some more king salmon on my way up.

Got launched around 10:30ish AM yesterday at Blaine and was cleared through customs at White Rock by 11:00. Then we spent the next 3 hours pounding our way up the Georgia Strait against a 20kt (or so) northerly. Finally got into the shadow of Texada and Lasqueti islands and things smoothed out. Stopped in at Half Moon Bay to pick up some free range eggs, thick bacon and a steak. Got settled in at Secret Cove around 4PM and had a very nice dinner at the Upper Deck restaurant last night.

This AM we got out and dropped the shrimp pots and trolled for awhile with no bites. Then I did an 11 mile run, had a beer and having been relaxing at the dock since. PvL's wife stopped by a few minutes ago to inquire about the TomCat so I'll probably see him later today or tomorrow.

Well, a lovely 4-day weekend at Secret Cove is over. We departed this AM and were off the dock around 8:20. Light wind from the S and we made it to Blaine around 11:30/noon. We caught about 100 spot prawns over the weekend and ate most of them while we were there.

Fished a little but fishing is poor in that area. Only 1 salmon bite for around 20 rod-hours and tha bite was a shaker that was quickly returned.
