Halibut opened in Puget Sound and the Strait on May 2. We caught three in four hours on the opener. 42, 35 and 32 lbs. East of Dallas Bank. Great weather to boot.

We got 2 smaller hali's 12 and 15 lbs. opening day in 30 minutes in the 31-36 area. But nothing the next day, but we got out late and couldn,t stay long.

Dropped the shrimp pots and headed to north Dallas Bank, my partner landed a 40# hali and then headed back to pull the pots with 140 shrimp, what a great day in May.

Picked up a 30 on Sunday and a 56 on Tuesday in area 2. Had to work though. There is a lot of long liners working out of Westport. I did find an instantaneous ling hole while hunting for halies. Can't wait to hit it again.

Had another nice day on the water Saturday :)

Fished Admiralty Bay and Dallas Bank.

Still no halibut, but Little Buddy did a great job.

launched out of keystone around 11:30 on a minus low tide. Some guys on a boat coming in were complaining about the current. 4# of lead and they still could not stay on the bottom. Guess they don't know how to read tide and current tables. Yes a lot of water was moving in the morning.

Parking lot at John Wayne was packed all weekend, but only talked to a couple of guys who made it pay. Didn't talk to the harbor master, but it sure was a paying weekend for them. Was a nice day out on Sat but not many fish caught.
