Have been waiting a couple weeks since EQ Harbor installed new BayStar Hyd. steering and Lenco trim tabs to see if it was worth it. In a word, why did I wait so long. It really improved the handling of the Mary Ellen. I already had Permatrims on our twin 40hp Honda's and was able to trim for side to side with them, but not a very efficient way to run. With the tabs, just the slightest adjustments would level things out quickly. The Hyd. steering is very smooth and really works effortlessly. The boat is 10 years old and I was having trouble with the old steering hanging up if left unturned for a few weeks in the winter. I could not be happier with the upgrades or the work EQ did to install them. I will put a few pics in our album.
I also got a chance to see how our new Honda Pilot does towing the boat. I still have a 1995 Ford F-150 4WD with a 5.8 liter motor that I will use mostly, but was impressed how the Honda did. If we are taking a few of the grandkids along, the Honda will be a nice option.
