Front window locking handles on CD25

These need painting really bad due to paint flacking off. The screws are frozen in the bracket and the angle does not allow drilling while closed. I have sprayed penetrating oil on the screw heads and no love.
Is removing the window and option or does anyone have a better suggestion?

If you really want to drill out the screws, perhaps a right angle / close quarters drill would work?

As an alternative, I'd sand the handles down in place, clean them with a "hot" (grease removing) solvent, then "paint them with Pastisol, a liquid plastic used for dipping the handles of tools like screwdrivers and pliers into to coat them with a rubber-like plastic applied for grip and the chemical protection of metal objects. Practice the painting routine on something else first, and be sure to mask off and cover everything around and under the window. Plastisol is a very thick liquid and requires some practice in applying with a brush.

Good Luck!

That 90 degree attachment was the correct tool. Two screws broke free and two lost the fight with the Quikout.
Thanks for reminding me of the 90 degree.
