I use free Google Drive (email, word processing, spreadsheet, presentations , online storage, Picasa, Calendar etc) on PCs (MAC and XP box, phone and tablet apps too)
go to
http://www.google.com/drive/apps.html
You can use it on or off line
There is not database program (Access. I miss Filemaker Pro and dBase)) but spreadsheet has some db functionality and uses formulas. Powerful enough for me and have several files setup to collaborate with others - very useful
Microsoft has online Office software under various names, Hotmail, Outlook.com, Skydrive, One Drive
go to outlook.com/
I create dan account just for the 20G online storage during a promotion but Dropbox and Box gave me 50G
My go to app is Evernote for notes ( I live on Post It notes) plan to switch to google Keep soon
