Up to now we just unsnag the hydrilla blooms in summer but now we have to deal with an invasive Asian fish species called the 'snakehead'. BTW snakeheads feed on bass and many more native fish species. Called 'snakeheads' because they have exterior colorings similar to a snake.

They have been in the Potomac for many years. Very nasty.

They've been the highlight of any fishing trip that I've caught them on. A really exciting fish to catch. Had one hit a floatin' frog.
 
We have been paying land-based Snakeheads to stay in Washington for over 200 yrs.
