Fishing in the Rain

Finally got a chance to head out salmon fishing in the rain this morning. It was fun..the bilge pumps never came on..there was not enough water even though it was raining hard for awhile. The sun ended up drying the cockpit floor by noon. Now that i know that the boat will not fill up with water and sink when it is raining that opens up more fishing time for me....i will still put the cockpit cover on when moored at my slip......Saw a 32 foot Nordic Tug on the river yesterday...i want one...ha!ha!...Tug

Charlie......got one King today.....been really trying to find..create a name for my boat but i can not think of one...............Rick thanks...there are still things i plan on doing...like saddle tanks..full canvas back..when i get any money. ...that Fishcam can be interesting to watch when there are lots of fish around...i have even seen boats tied up to the Fishcam enclosure..( illegal to do )..trying to catch fish. Great fish cam. Never get tired watching. Living in the PNW I fish a lot in the rain. With salmon I try not to fish a rising river. Usually not good. Here's one I got last year.

Went out Perch fishing this morning and got caught is a thunder/lightening storm. It was getting real black in the Northern sky so i decided to pull anchor and head home. The song form the show Gilligans Island kept topping into my head as i tried to find the channel bouys. It was actually fun, i putted the 16 miles back to the marina, glad i have GPS or i would of had to drop anchor and wait out the storm.
