Fish Mode Intro, TY!

Fish Mode

Hello fellow C-brats, I've been a lurker if you guys still remember them days for quite some time now and I guess I should come clean.

I don't have a CD  ! Yep, it's sad but here's the good news - I definitely plan to get one when the time comes! It's what C-dory has done in the past years which has made me a loyal follower - the practicality, the sea-worthyness, and the changes made by input rather than mod - really shows that CDs are a different species from other boat manufacturers :thup . I'm a norm in i-fish and have seen lots of different species of boat but nothing as quite distinctive than the CD in looks and range in cruising and fishing abilities

Right now, I have a 21' bayliner. Old, but suits my taste as I like to fish more than cruise. However, I think that sometimes a lot of things not on my boat are available on others a COMPROMISE which I often hear on this forum. The thing about CDs which make them so different from others is their 'ability' to customize after buying - but hey any boats that way! - I just wanted to ask you guys for ALLL of the things you've done to make your boat a better boat, whether it be auto-pilot or adding lights in the cabin to add a flavor of home (I'll probably ask this later in another topic though)

I hope to see you guys on the water soon,
David

Hi David - Welcome to our little Pub.

Questions? Sure. Our answers may be admittedly biased, but then not really so much so. Most all of us ended up on a C-Dory after owning other boats. One thing you'll find if you hang around here very long is that while it is the brand of boat that gets us here, it is the people we meet and come to call friends that keep us here.

So have fun, and we are glad you signed on.

Mike

Welcome David-

Like Mike and Dan said, the boats may be the initial reason for coming to this site but it's the kind of people that come here that make us want to stay. (Even if we are currently ... um... between C-Dorys.)

Anyway, back to the question at hand. There is so much an owner can do to customize these fine boats. It's almost an open ended question. I put a pair of large (24 gallon) saddle tanks on my little 16-foot Angler in order to increase its safe range to over 150 miles. I also installed a pair of hammock mounts to use while out camping. I installed a horn and reworked the electrical system with more fused switches for the new horn/chartplotter/VHF radio/12vdc power outlet etc... I mounted a off/on/auto bilge pump switch. And I bought and mounted new vinyl name and registration numbers.

I'm sure there was more. It seems I was always tinkering on her. But, at least for me, that's a very theraputic part of owning a boat.

Good luck on your future C-Dory purchase. They are wonderful boats.
