I see that area 9 is open for sport crabbing right now
I am thinking about trying to do some crabbing in that area what I need to know is where to put some pots. I have never crabbed in area 9, I mostly fish 8-1, and 8-2 for crab and 8-2 and 7s for shrimp
how deep do you usually set the pots there

Typically anywhere from 60-120'. However, the key (at least in my mind) seems to be to find good shelves near food sources (think creek and river outlets) and to crab on incoming tides for best results. Also, oily bait works best.

Two Rogers is confusing this old one!

Dr. Roger - Sensei is just foolin'. He KNOWS where the crab are and just wants to know where I get those 8 1/2 - 12 inch cocktail delights.. One just over 10 1/2 the largest this year, so they seem to be shrinking.

Neighbor Rog,

Over where the lightening is, eh? Man, that was some show tonight. I'll PM ya and work up a pizza date and mebbe a crab trip.

Dusty

Thanks Roger
I was wonderin where. I use clams for bait usually.

sounds good to me. I am batching it for the next week, Lisbeth just went down to the airport to fly the coop. She is going to a conference in Nashville TN and whilst there will have a few days visit with the Byrd Family.
