Bixby's Cub
My new cruiser came with a pair of Penn 820 electric downriggers with swivel bases, they have ss wire on them and seem to have some type of depth or line counting. They are in good condition as they were stored in the previous owners garage, not outside on the boat. I just wish the owner had stored the C-Dory in the garage. Any one have any interest or idea what a fair price would be. I found a pair just like them on ebay for 599.
That seems a bit high, but I don't know.

Thanks, Tex

should they be in good shape that is a good price. congrats on new purchase. I am clad it was not closer I would have bought it even if I am selling mine. Just for piece of mind check balsa core on transom and cockpick floor. You can do it with a moisture meter. Some places rent them.

So far I have done the "tap" test and all seems solid.

5 to 6oo for the downriggers if they are in good shape is a great price. list in the north west or great lakes craiglist and you should sell them quickly. penns are great downriggers. how much do you want for them and how long are the arms?

I'll second what Tom said. Great riggers. I think Penn only makes manuals now, but you'll have no trouble getting rid of those.

if we didn't live so far apart I would be quite interested. the shipping would be too much I am sure.
as to pricing, there have been several on Seattle craigslist that were priced in the 175 to 275 each. do not know what they actualy sold for.

The arms are 4 feet long.

The electric downriggers are still sitting in the shop. If anyone is interested, I can bring them with us to Guttenberg or Powell. I was thinking $300 for the pair would be a fair price.

Hi,
If you would, you can consider them sold. :D I will send you a pm.
D.D.

Downriggers have found a new home.
