Cool Google route planning mashup tool

Thanks Warren. I have used "Google Earth" for trip planing and printing for some time. Works very simular, and can see the satellite photos tilted to get a "feel" of the topography. It has measuring for both straight line and multiples of that for route measurements. And it is free.

Just another option.

You nailed it Harvey,

Google Earth also has 360 deg. land photos that were taken from a truck about every hundred yards along most roadways.
You will need to download the a recent version to get that feature.

When still working I used some of the most powerful GIS programs to be found (Arc-view and Arc-map). These programs cost thousands of $$$ for a licensed copy. Google Earth has amazed me in what it will do, and it's FREE!!!!

I highly recommend it to everyone not already using it.
