What is the process to get through the major dams on the Columbia River in my boat? I know Bonneville, The Dalles, John Day, and McNary all have massive barges who pass through every day, but how would an average Joe like myself go about doing this if I wanted to cruise a few days up the Columbia? All tips are appreciated.
