changing front window, to newer opening one

I have a 22' 82 classic. has any body ever heard of replacing the front window with a opening one, is it the same size or worth the trouble.
I think it would be nice to open on a nice day and to help keep the cabin dry.

I have tried to find an exact size to fit my 1983 Classic. The size of the window is different then the newer 22' C-Dory's. Maybe somebody has measured the window and consulted catalogues to find the exact size. I will try and do that.

Hi Dan,
I'm doing this from memory, but I'm sure others wil chime in if I get it wrong. The windows on the "newer" boats are, or were, made by Diamond/Sea Glaze in Langley, B.C. They can make a replacement opening window to fit a Classic from a pattern, but it would not be the same style as the original aluminum-framed windows. It's also pretty expensive for a one-off deal. I don't know who made the original windows and I've never seen that information on the board. Does anybody know who made the original windows, and if they are still in business?

It would be nice since the pilot window can easily be in the spray zone while quartering into the wind and/or a good chop.
