Center Window

Anyone have an idea where I could pick up a knob for the center opening window. The knob the lets you lock the window open. Mine is safely stored in the drink !
Thank you.

I was able to use a part available at West Marine on my center window.

Go to their web site and search on "Seafit Premium Hatch Adjuster"

It's $27.99.

Big Dave.

Let me know if it the same as that installed in the 2004 22 Cruiser. If it is, I will send you one. I will have to look for it but I think I have the whole arm mechanism.

Best regards,

I'm just going to update this old thread. I have a 2002 22 Cruiser with the adjuster for the center window that has the wing nut on it. I've been trying for a few weeks to find a suitable solution or replacement as my wing nut would just jump the threads and not tighten enough to hold the window up. As a temporizing measure I wrapped a few turns of electrical tape around the bezel and that gave it enough bite to hold the window half open while running pretty hard. I ordered a replacement from the Advantec store but they sent the wrong size. They sent the 10" when I ordered the 7". What I found though is that the knob from the new adjuster fit perfectly onto the threads where the wing nut screwed on. It was a $30 part basically for the knob. The mounting holes for the 10" adjuster where a little wider than the holes in the welded tab on my window. If the 7" version is the same it also wouldn't work. I was going to call them and check to see if the 7" version's mounting holes where identically spaced as the 10", but then found that I could just rob the knob. Here's a link to the part, I wonder if you might be able to just order the knob for a cheaper price? (Edit: on their website it looks like you can just order the knob)

Most well stocked "ACE Hardware" stores have an extensive section of fasteners. Above the nuts and bolts shelves are specialty items. The black knurled round knobs that you need with internal SAE threads are in those flat trays.

Same thing apparently happened to the PO of my boat. He replaced the missing knob with a wing nut. The wing nut thread was not quite the same, it worked ok, but you could not really get the lock tight and the strut would slip. I got a replacement knob from Diamond Sea Glaze. I also got a repair kit which contains all the locking mechanism parts for the window strut.

They are Sea Dog parts. Look on this page.
