CD25 props for twin HONDA 90s and WOT speed?

Sea Angel

Big question for the day.. after trying to find these answers thru the various threads... I must be lacking in sight tools....

1. Is the 15" pitch for the SS HONDA Prop the better setup for a moderately loaded CD25 with twin 90s, refrig., a/c, and 'stuff' for CGAUX facility work?

2. What would be the expected WOT speed, on the flat?

Sea Angel is abt to hit here for rigging and I am looking to optimize the instrumentation and cruising effeciency. Moments of truth for the pocketbook are abt to hit.

Thanks in advance and 73s.

We have the stock props (3x13.5x15) on our boat and would like to change to a 4 blade. Does any one with twin 90's have used other options. with this standard prop at WOT it runs about 5800 rpm's. Would like to increase our milage as we like to cruse at about 16-18 knots, 42-48rpm's
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Mark

We run the stock set-up and would like improve efficiency. Average 1.9 - 2 mpg on average at 16-18 mph anyone with twinns tried different options??

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark;

This is a link to Sea Angel's run curves in her album.

The props I did buy were the SS 15", 4 blade. I'm very happy with the low end torque and high speed results. I also feel more confortable knowing if I hit something that the prop will survive better than an aluminum prop.

It should be noted that these SS props are not cheap, compared to others out there.
