c-80 transducer help

I just bought my new c-80 with a transom mount transducer and I need a little help.

Has anyone installed on of these?

I'm not worried so much about the mounting, but the drilling of the hole for the cable to push through the transom. It looks like the cover they give you isn't big enough to cover the size of the hole you need to make to get the head of the wire through.
 
Sorry, I forgot to mention it's not a C-dory.

It's one of your members old/new boats (Cutty Sark). Its a 2006 Defiance. I'm posting here because you guys seem to know the most about the C-80 series, so I thought maybe one of you have traveled the same path.
 
Chewyjackson, I just went through that and found the little plastic pieces way too small. I got a cap that fits in a 1" hole, above the waterline and seals the cable. After cutting the 1" hole I mixed up some epoxy and painted the inside of the hole with a foam brush. Twice. It seals the glass matrix or wood core from water intrusion. It's not the water that might get into the boat that matters but the water that gets inside structure. Good Luck
