Another great trip southeast to Eastpoint FL in the Apalachacola Bay area. We are planning for a gathering in the southeast in either fall, early spring or both. Some have expressed interest in the little horseshoe rout Bill and El made on Halcyon. This takes you down the east coast of AL starting in Eufaula, AL, down to Apalachacola Bay area, west over to Mobile, AL, then north/northeast up the Alabama River to Montgomery, AL. Take a peek in Halcyon for some of their travel notes. Have posted pics of Wefins' Marine co-owners John and Marc in my photos...but have simply forgotten how to attach them here....but added them to FreeByrd's photo albumn. Great to have things starting to pic up for C-Dory again in the SE.

"Byrdman lands his first Yahoo" Can you say that on this family site? :?: :?: :?:

Ohhhhhhh, you mean the fish. You might be able to understand how I could be confused.

Congrats Pat.

Well Roger...for the 1st couple of rounds ....no BBQ sauce at all. Marc put together some great.... Ceviche.... now... they did not say that much in my neighborhood....but we'd called it little bitty chunchs of fish...with the same size chunks of onions, seeded chilis, peppers, cilantro....and "cooked".... or soaked in lemon (or any other citrus juice) for about 5 hours.... Man... it was great.

Byrdman.... Say, that is one reeeeaaaly skinny fish!!! or is it just the 'background'? How'd you get it? Did you go on a charter, or out with friends? Did you get it on your boat? How far out? John

We strapped him in a chair and screamed Reel!Reel!Reel! He followed the suggestion dutifully, Ill bet his arms are still sore............ The boat is my partner's . Its a classic wooden 48' Rybovich circa 1975.One of the original sportfishers from Miami .

The best tasting fish I've ever smoked (yeah, you need to know which end to light) is blue marlin -- is wahoo texture anything like it? I sure want to get back to Mexico and get another marlin! So much fishing, so little time

My generous next door neighbor goes hunting Tuna twice a year on the long range boats down south, sometimes as far as Costa Rica. Wahoo is a welcomed diversion from 200+ lb. cows so he usually comes home with two or three in the 60-90 lb. range. Consequently it's rare that we don't have Wahoo in our freezer. Texture is similar to Albacore, taste is mild, and when cooked it flakes like Tuna. Delicious baked, on the barbie or in Cerveche. A VERY aggressive fish.

Hey Gang... It was great....to catch and to eat. Now Marc is being very humble about his partner's John's boat.... This beauty is a piece of art in itself. As they say back home..... I'zzz in HIGH COTTEN as soon as I steped on board.... and everywhere you looked was another very functional piece of beautiful teak wood. And you talk about a nice ride....something to be said for the old wood hulls. WAAAAHHHHOOOO

Rock on, Patrick! We can't wait to get down there and play in the gulf. The movers come on Thursday. Marc, we're ready to get those outriggers wet.
