Any one know the rules or process or paperwork needed for purchasing in lower 48 and driving across canada to alaska with the said boat?
Im going to Az for the winter and will look for a c dory in lower 48 to drive back in the spring with the boat if I find one.
Any paper work to cross the border other than title transfer, bill of sale. Any timelines for a trailer license plate?. do you have to have a trip permit? Anyone know how the process would work.

Call Canadian Customs. A current registration or Bill of sale should be all you need.

If you are an Alaskan resident, give Alaska DMV a call & check if you can register a boat from outside. If principal use of the boat is in Alaska, you should be able to get your registration from Alaska.

The Alaska Boater Handbook (2012) should give you all the info
