Boat/fishing Related X-mas presents

So.... what kind of X-mas presents did you get for your boat? Santa (and my wife) was generous to the SeaDNA (the fact that I circled certain pages in the Cabella's catalogue probably helped).

The SeaDNA received:
A hand operated bilge pump - the back-up to the back-up. Now I can be legal in Canada.

Rubber non-skid to apply to the trailer fenders.

Several packages of 3-way swivels for bottom fishing.

And best of all - a really nifty remote operated search/spot light. This device, an Optronics Motion Pro Spot light, plugs into the cigarette lighter and has a suction cup attachment to mount on any smooth surface. It's a good suction cup - the kind with a lever to attach and release. A 15' cable let's you put the light where you want to. A wired remote with a couple of feet of cord hangs off near the 12V jack. The remote lets you turn the light on and off and swivel it in two axes. I played with it in the garage for about 10 mins yesterday. It works great - we'll see how it holds up over time.

Merry Christmas to all...

this is the first christmass with tthe new boat ,almost, so a lot of presents were boat related. from my mom was a auto inflate vest for my son, a set of non-skid dishes for my wife and fenders for me. from her folks we got a copy of chapmans pilotingand tools. i bought my wife a gold propeller with a topaz in the hub as a neckles. and i bought my self some more dogders. cablels has dodges in the bargan cave part of their web site for $4 each. thats a good buy.

My wife and I each bought each other the same salmon hoochies...the exact same colors...spooky! We also exchanged kevlar filet gloves...we think alike! A digital scale for those big silvers. I got her a nice "ship's log" to record our adventures. Hey, does a Kimber Stainless Gold Match 1911 .45ACP count as a boating item? I guess we could "repel boarders." lol

Geeze, she spoils me.

Merry Christmas to all!
Rick

I also recieved a nice pair of hip boots from Santa...plus...from Jr Santa, a package of adult diapers.....I don't get no respect, the little wisecracker....I guess I could wear them fishing and then I wouldn't have to take a potty break when the bite heats up :)

Roger, just a word of caution......when I had my 16' C-Dory I purchased a "Go Light" with a similar suction type base. I "suctioned" it down on the roof of the cabin one evening and the next morning the "suction" was no more and with not much movement it would have slid off of the roof. Therefore, I ended up using the permanent mount base that was provided with the light and mounted it on the roof of the cabin. (Read.....don't trust the suction base to hold the light in place while you are out at sea).

With the new 22', I had Les install a permanent mount "Go Light" on the bow pulpit with "joy stick" controls mounted on the dash. This works extremely well and I don't have any reflection off the bow pulpit as I did with my former "set up".

Don and I each bought a new American Flag for each other because our old one is just plain worn out. I got new pot holders and coasters with fish on them, Don a new filet glove, new tide chart book and tide chart calender. We also got a new cd sound system for the boat. Don says he wants speakers for the inside and outside of the boat Look out Brock, competition for your boom box. Merry Christmas everyone.

My wife bought me the Marine Navigator software package. It has all the charts from Cape Flattery to San Francisco and includes the bath charts, areial photos and NOAA charts. Now all I need is a laptop  . She bought me a Manley plier and knife combo with clip on scabbard. Too cool.
She also bought me a new anchor ball. Now I have the balls to go fishing again :xlol

Between the two of us:

2 rods & reels,
a new cooler with cushion top,
set of "unbreakable" glasses (we'll see),
teak towel rack,
towel with a blue crab to go on it (ok, a predictable gift),
new hand-lines for crabbing, with fancy bait hooks on the end...
and Santa delivered the battery charger early!

Better yet, they're calling for temps in the 60s on January 1 - sounds like a nice day on the water to ring in the New Year
