Beautiful 19 interior

I just came across one of the Brats albums and loved what he did to the interior. I love that classic look. My question(s) is this: What kind of material is that? Real wood? How will it hold up to salt water? Pros and cons?
I'm really not a big fisher, although I do fish. I'm more of a cruiser so keeping it clean would be easier (in theory!!)
