Another trailer width question

Hello,
First post here on C-Brats. I am in the market for a 19 or 22 C-Dory. The only hang up is that I have a pretty narrow driveway (9' 8"), so I am trying to figure out if I will be able to park the boat in the driveway and still be able to squeeze through with a trash can or lawnmower.

What is the width of most trailers for 19 and 22 foot boats?

Thank you all for the help and I look forward to getting a C-Dory soon so that I can be a "real" member of the group.

Thanks,
Tim

Hello tim
I have a Pacific trailer under our 22' Angler and it is 8 feet wide.
That is the standard width accepted most places.
Have fun looking and shopping.

It depends on the brand. At this size, many manufacturers have gone to 8' 6", as most new boats are that wide. Some manufacturers are still building trailers 8' wide. EZ Loader offers both widths.

"If you build it, they will come." Right. If you buy it, you'll figure it out, either put a patio paver pad down to park on so one wheel will be over far enough to get buy with the "stuff" (providing you have that room available), or you will be walking the length of the boat on the edge on the other side.

My Pacific is 8'6" from out side of one wheel well to the outside of the other.

Tim,
Just buy the durn boat, don't worry about the trash can or the lawnmower. Once you have the boat, you won't be around the house enough to create any trash and pay the neighbor kid to mow your lawn with his mower, since you won't have time to mow anyhow. :wink

Thank you for all of the great replies.

DaveS. You are right... if I get the boat, who cares about mowing the lawn.

Great site. Can't wait to find the right C-Dory.

thanks
Tim

That reminds me, I gotta mow my lawn tonight while the sun is shining. Going to be hard to mow when I have the parts gathered up now to finish the install of the Wallas 1300 and those two large camlock hatches to install in the v-berth. I need a condo.

Tim,
Quite some time ago I posted on the site about the time that I sold the last of my cows and no longer felt the need to "put up" my hay for feed. So, I told a neighbor that he could have my hay...all he had to do was cut it, rake it, bale it and pick up all the bales and move them off the place.
Imagine the delight I felf on the HOT AUGUST Day that we pulled out of the driveway with the boat behind us for an extended cruise in the San Juans and looked over to see the neighbor sweating profusely as he was bucking bales of hay from our field onto his trailer.
