Looks interesting

Brent,
I think you are trying to share something you have found that might be of use to we Windoze users but it comes across as spam. If you have used this product and find it to be everything the web page says it is, that is ok by me. I would like to see your personal comments about the software rather then the cut & paste verbiage of the web site which reads like an advertisement.

Just my thoughts on the way you have presented it.

No problem here. I have been downloading useful software from Giveaway of the Day site for several months. They offer commerical software for free if you download on the Giveaway day. It is a deal site like Woot except the software is free. I just posted todays freebie using copy and paste the details b/c the deal ends at midnight. Advanced WindowsCare Professional is an useful tool compares to CCleaner but I have only it once. It has some extra features I need to explore. It detected the common internet driftwood right away.

I found it on the Techbargains site which I have viewing and sending deals for a long time.

I hope this helps.

I can plainly see that the posts on here are not ads, but two of them do look as if they are from the titles. Not a problem at all - but it was annoying, and inviting to spammers, to have them in the front page listing of recently active topics. I tweaked a couple settings so that the posts to this forum will not show up on the publically visible listing on the front page, but they will show up when a registered user clicks to view posts since his last visit (much like the That's Life forum topics). Now also, the posts here are not visible to a visitor or a member not logged in. I figure this is a nerd thread, and if the nerds can't figure out how to get here they shouldn't be on it anyway!

Had a little problem on the first install....ran setup before the activation program...and got the normal trial crap...scan but would not repair....then went back to the readme file...and saw where they wanted the activation program ran first, so I uninstalled the program and started over. It is working now and I will let you know how I like it tomarrow...it's bed time for Bonzo now.

Brent – you appear to be a very active Windows user and are not afraid to try new software or experiment with it. Most users on this forum do not have the expertise you do and trying new programs that they do not understand will get them into trouble, even if it is a program that is suppose to make their computer run faster and better.

If they do not have a problem with their computer, don’t add anything that will make it faster, because most of the time it will not and may just make it slower.

Most vendors claim their program is the best thing since sliced bread. Almost all are not and unless you really know what you are doing, the average person is going to cause more problem than he will solve. Do not install anything on your computer unless you understand what it is and you need it.

Too many people get a new piece of equipment that comes with software, so it is installed on their computer. They may already have one or more programs on their computer that does the same thing so now they have two, three or more programs fighting over which will get to open a file or manage a resource. Or the user sees a new utility like this one and decides to install it. It is now running in the background, then later sees something else and installs it. More junk running in the back ground. Isn’t this what started the nerd section of this forum. If you don’t put junk on the computer to start with, you wont need a fix.

If a user has a specific problem, explain what it is and then lets see if we can help.

Brent, I hope you do not take this the wrong way, because I believe you can help those members with specific problems but I believe a post as this can lead most novice users to creating more problems than it will solve.

Most people don't need more stuff on their computer, they need less.

Again, no problem. I thought the post was equivalent to a West Marine, etc deal for boating items.

No problem with the post, Brent - but I do agree the title could have been worded differently to avoid the appearance of SPAM. Once one reads through the subsequent posts, it becomes clear it's not - but many people just peruse headlines here, and first impressions can be a powerful thing.

No harm, no foul. But everyone - please try and keep the above in mind.

Sincerely,

Mom

I dont care if its spam or not the program is great. I have been using it the last few days and have not had any problems. i was having several problems before hand with a few thing. now they are gone and the computer seems to be running faster. unfortunatly it was a free trial not a free program so now I will have to buy it but it seems to be well worth the money.
