Fish Mode / David-
Although there's no mention of it now in the "History" section on the current factory web site, in previous years there was mention there of larger, custom, utility, double-ended boats having been produced years ago by one of the previous manufacturers in the chain of ownership evolution.
Mostly what I've seen from this era are custom 26 and 27 square ended cruisers and one pilothouse intended for fishing with custom cabins on them, but this appears to be the genuine custom double ender, big-time style. There was also at least one boat built with a square front end for laying out commercial fishing nets and retrieving them, called a "bow picker", I believe.
Nice boat, but pretty much too much purpose built to be used for anything else, unless a real wood craftsman with a lot of time would want to convert it at considerable expense into a cruiser. Might also be possible to use it as a small charter fishing boat, if that floor (flat inner raised bottom) isn't too far above the waterline to be dangerous to passengers.
Nice find! Did you notice the fine craftsmanship and attention to detail?
We should preserve copies of these photos somewhere for reference!
Ken over on the C-Dog site has a place for such goodies!
Thanks! Joe.
