2005 Cruise Planning

I thought I would bring this back up to the top. Last year at Lopez was our first C-Brat gathering. We are looking forward to a repeat performance.

Definitely the only way to start boating season. Although as far as I am concerned there is no season. It is all year long. Just a little warmer during "the season"

I think we should just have a standing reservation at the Lopez Islander for opening week-end.

i took my starcraft to lopez last summer and had a great time. i cant wait to do it this summer many times on the new boat. hope that my folks can fly in to the air port and then stay at the islander and go out on the new baot with us, same for my brother and his wife.

Well, maybe the one to bring back up to the top is really the one about planning the whole year...I know, it is very UN-C-Brat like to plan that far ahead! But marking vacation calendars or comp time days off (Yes! FINALLY!) or whatever in advance, it is really helpful to know what to put in for.

The events to talk about (Washington/OR/N.Cal, sorry you right coast types):

South Puget Sound in March
Cathlamet in April (Is that right?)
Lopez in May
Warrenton in June (SturgeonFest! Yes!)
Blakely in July
Langley (can we still go there, even if Ben is gone?) in September
Sequim in October

That still leaves August open - how about Lake Chelan????

Other possibilities:

Gulf Islands (Otter Bay)- early June, like last year.
Port Ludlow
Sucia
Lake Chelan, late May or early June
Cornet Bay, EQ invasion
Victoria
Pleasent Harbor, Hood Canal
Blake Island, south sound
Roche Harbor, oops, sorry

Pat: Yep, us right coast folks are not asleep at the helm either. We are looking at Apr05 in Nashville/Mt. Juliet, TN on the Cumberland River system or Old Hickory lake. .....and a trip to the Grand Ol Opry for those who enjoy a note or two of Country music. I simply was just not sure how to get something added to the calendar, or start a gathering string on this site. Figured I'd bring it up at the Seattle Boat show and in other topics and one of our C-Brat site guroos would help in getting the stuff added to our site. Nashville is not that far away from the Carolinas, GA, FL, AL.... and we have folks that will be coming down from Maine and over from NM too.... Then, possible wander down the Tenn-Tom, or hit the interstate and visit the Keys or over to Bahamas for a few days. Pretty flexible, and will just see what the interest and schedules bring. Inside of a month till the boat show. Really looking forward to it.

Catman, is it too early to nail down a date for desolation.
Fred, all that and more. Well, even Roche Harbor deserves a short visit. It you guard your wallet $.

I don't know about the rest of you, but August on the other side of the mountains when the Strait is chock full of salmon?!? I'll be at Neah Bay in August and would be happy to meet up with other C-brats out there.

Roche Harbor! That's a good one! When we own a Bayliner and pigs fly! But a very good point - we are not limited to only ONE destination a month...

I WISH I could be there for the Grand Ol' Opry part for sure...I spent a weekend or two at Bay Head in N.J. - and gazed on the Delaware at Camden daily for three years too. Every time CSI Miami comes on, I say "Damn, I would LOVE to cruise there..." DaNag and Tyboo will be glad to set you up for signups for that Right Coast stuff, I am sure. Don't count us out, one of these days, you might just see us on Lake Martin!

chelan the first week of july is almost deserted. We passed thru there a few years ago on june 31 to july 2 and not one of the boat in camp grounds had a single person in it. in fact 25 mile camp ground ,which has its own protected harbor and fuel dock was empty. if we book that weekend with the forest service i bet we can get the fuel pumps opened that week. I would love chelan anytime but august is to hot and i will also be salmon fishing.

July in Tyboo country can be pretty awsome. If the fish and weather Gods allow it, you can run out to the ocean and catch salmon and then run back in to the esturary, drop anchor to finish out the day sturgeon fishing. The Salmon fishing hoards haven't showed up yet so moorage wouldn't be an issue. Plenty to see and do if you're not a fishing person.....food for thought

There is a conflict in May... The Halibut opener in Newport... I will have precious little in the way of financial resources to go anywhere after the opener... I usually store my boat in Newport to partake of the summer fishing season in that neck of the woods. Could we do Lopez a bit earlier?
I would love to get up there and meet all of you but I don't see it happening after the 2nd week of May....

Pat: I more than likely will be on the TomCat without Sherryl... she will still be at work... :amgry :embarrased ... making money to pay for my toys as she puts it... :D :D at the Gand Ol' Nashville gathering and would be glad to trow onboard a west side C-Dory owner for the gig. Cheap tickets between SEATAC and Nahville on Southwest and Delta too. Was going to toss this out at the SBS/Factory Gathering. Would be great to have some of "you guys"... :xnaughty come on over and down. See Yall there!

I am trying to get the planning in, too. Was there a site for the Blakely Island trip with the dates. I thought that I read somewhere that we should be calling in February to sign up for our spot, but what are the dates? Thanks for the info.

Diane :lips

Here you go...cut and paste. Do we have a signup sheet yet? And I guess it IS time to call for slip reservations...

OK, I just got off the phone with Norma, we are confirmed for July 15 and 16 for Blakely Marina. She would like people to call for individual slip reservations in FEBRUARY.

Brock - I did not so much take this on as Norma dumped it in my lap, with little time to react!
