This is an intro post as I didn't get around to doing one when I purchased a C'Dory TomCat 24 from fellow C-Brats member robchappelle this past August.

I have been traveling the US in a Class B RV for the last five years and was ready for a new adventure, so I bought Rob's TomCat to cruise the 6,000-mile Great Loop, which is a circumnavigation of the eastern states and parts of Canada.

I was fortunate to spend two months on the water exploring Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands after buying the boat. It was an unforgettable experience. I now know why the area is a cruiser paradise and I quickly learned this boat will be a great fit for my travels.

Though it was a limited experience, I now know what I will need to do to get the boat ready for the Great Loop. I posted a video tour today on YouTube and will be posting regular videos to my channel from the cruising I have already completed, the upcoming repairs and upgrades, and eventually the Great Loop cruise (launch late 2026 or early 2027).
 
Congratulations Pat! I enjoyed your video tour and look forward to following your Great Loop Adventures. Now I get to watch all your previous adventurers in your Class B. Did you tow your Tom Cat to Texas with your van?

My van wouldn't have had enough guts to get it back to Texas, so I paid a transporter who I know to haul it for me. I have access to a couple of trucks in Texas to launch and retrieve the boat so I am holding off buying another truck for the time being (one day though as I miss owning a truck). Thanks for watching the tour.

Post in thread 'Molly’s Great American Loop'

The crew of the Molly Brown completed her loop on Sunday, January 5th. It was an amazing adventure. Some rough stats for those who may be thinking of doing it some day.....

Just shy of 10 months continuous (301 days)

809 engine hours

7134 miles travelled (this was with side trips and the Lake Champlain/St.Lawrence Seaway route)

19 states and 2 Canadian provinces

163 locks

112 marina nights. More than we planned but Betty had 4 trips off the boat and the dog had to have emergency surgery which took 10 days in port

2636 gallons of fuel for a total of $13,253

Currently cleaning up...

They also had a dog and a cat aboard with Betty working full time via Starlink, so you should have lots and lots and lots of extra space on that boat.
