Hello all, I have a new to me 1981 22 Angler Classic. Excuse me if my terminology is not correct. I’m wondering how the wooden beaching skids are attached to the flat hull. The boat will be moored in saltwater four months on the year. Any special treatment prior to painting? I am very familiar with the process on a fiberglass hull, I am specifically looking for information relating to the wooden skids. Thank you in advance. Sorry I do t see an option to load a photo.

I’m inclined to use a epoxy barrier coat on the classic with the wooden ribs ( sorry if wrong term). Are there any classic owners here that have bottom paint? The boat will be moored during the summer months. Thanks

When I first got my classic I sanded them, painted them with West System epoxy that i thinned a bit so it soaked in real far. Then, another coat of resin without thinning it to build up a bit. Then scuffed that and bottom painted the whole bottom. I moored in salt for 9-10 years and it held up just fine
