11/06 - Snohomish River Delta "Fall '04" Day Cruis

Since Catman suggested (on another "thread") that we do a November '04 Snohomish River Cruise, I would suggest that the cruise date be set for Saturday, November the 6th. There is a high tide of 11.2 feet at close to 1300 HRS that day, which should make the river and the delta "fingers" very navigable. (Obviously, we'd have to avoid those "low clearance" bridges this time!). The only thing that could "torpedo" this cruise would be extensive rain at that time that would fill the river with floating trees from run off. (We won't know about that until the time for the cruise actually arrives).

FYI.........I just looked up the information from last year's Snohomish River Delta Cruise and it took place on the 3rd of November, so a date of November 6 for this cruise is very close in timing. :smilep

Good suggestion, Dave. Provided the weather's decent, count Bambina in on that fun little jaunt up the inland intestine behind Everett.

Hi Dave,
Good to hear from you. Count me also in if the river isn't flooding. Have you been putting alot of hours on the new boat? I have been really enjoying mine and its been great fishing this year.
Talk to you soon, Jim

Catman, you suggested we get started on this and Tyboo has set up a "professional sign-up list" for this.............soooo you'd best sign on so Tyboo doesn't look like a dork! :crook

You too....Work Release.... :wink

I thought I would bring this back to the top and also ask a question. Could we make this an overnight gig, maybe Friday night at Everett and then a cruise Saturday morning? If the river is running hard we could cruise over to Langley for the day or something else? Just wondering.

Fred

You will love it, it is a great day cruise. Unfortunately, our status is murky at the moment...we have an appointment at C-Dory on November 4, after their move to Auburn, for gelcoat repair and windlass installation...Patty doubts they can get that done in time for the November 6 gig, but I am a bit more hopeful...

I think that I want to do this day trip. If the creek don't rise, count me in.

GREAT thought, Fred! If I got a boat back on Friday, that is...

That is what Rick said when I was trying to make the appointment to get gelcoat repairs...not sure where they are headed to in Auburn. For sure they are out of room in Kent.

Pat, C-Dory is moving to Auburn? The whole Pacific Hwy operation or what?

Fred, Friday at Everett sounds good to us. When do you think you will get to Everett? Maybe we can get you out for a ride on our boat.

Don, Deb and Haileigh

Deb, I will be trailering down from Anacortes and will launch at Everett Friday early afternoon. I would love to get a ride on your boat since Robbin already has.

Fred

Hi C-Brats,
Glad to see this river trip is becoming a C-Brat tradition. Still busy with the house project, so boating has been limited to a few short trips in the inflatable dinghy. Dave, it is a smart move to check on the tide levels this year. Those low bidges were a bit too close to the roof tops of our boats! I look forward to catching up with you guys sooner or later.
Best Regards, Leo.

Here is some information I just ran across.
I was just reading my Everett Salmon and Steelhead Club newsletter and it showing that there is a 2 day salmon derby in Everett put on by Everett Bayside Marine ( 425-259-3056) on the 6th and 7th of November. I am not sure of all the details but it may congest the 10th street boat launch a bit for the Snohomish Delta C-Dory Cruise. I'll get more details next week. Where were the folks planning on spending the Friday night?

Thanks for the "heads up" on the derby, Jim. Since, I'm guessing you've been involved in derbys there before......I understand the ramps could be congested, but I would think there would be adequate parking available. (What do you think?) (Of course for anyone coming in and spending the night Friday night, it would be a "non-issue".

Hi Dave,
I got some information on the Bayside Fishing Derby. It is on the 6th and 7th and the fish weigh-in's are located at Everett Bayside Marine which will ease up the congestion at the 10th street boat launch Saturday. The derby fishing areas are restricted to 8.1, 8.2, and 9. and you can weigh'in Coho, blackmouth, and chum. I would guess that the 10th street boat launch will be pretty busy early Saturday morning but will ease up after the morning rush is over. Hope to see you there.
