OK folks, we done did it...1000 registered users.

Oh sure, some of these 1000 folks have never posted. Some have visited once or twice never to return, but what the hey...'tis a big number, and we're gonna celebrate.

And yes...we've got prizes!

We've been anticipating this moment for a while, and wanted to do something a little special. Trouble is, we didn't want to offer up goodies to registered user #1000, cuz sneaky C-Brats like Brock and B~C would just register up a bunch of bogus accounts. Then, I'd have to make a post about how "Hairy Purple Thong Boy" or "No, That's Not A Fish In My Pants" won the prize. Yeah, that's right...I don't trust a bunch of you. :P

So...here's what some lucky C-Brat is going to win.

Two C-Dory jackets and hats! Generously donated by Jeff at C-Dory, just for this special occasion.

And...the coolest C-Brat gadget yet...your very own, finest quality, stainless steel, laser engraved C-Brat bottle opener. Yeah, yeah...you folks who made it to Sequim last fall already saw these, and a few of you have them. So just act dumb and look surprised, mmmkay?

Ooooh...aaaah....

OK...here's how we're going to perform the "virtual raffle". In order to be entered, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a registered C-Brat.
  2. You must have your C-Dory information included in your Profile. We're limiting this prize to current C-Dory owners, or folks who have one on order.
  3. You must have posted at least once in the last 90 days.

On Friday, I'll run a simple database query that will pull one random user out of our database who matches all of the above. No, you can't see the code, and yes, you'll just have to trust me. And if by some stroke of luck Brock's name pops up, don't worry...nobody will be the wiser when I run the query a second time.

So...this gives a few of you lurkers a chance to get in on the prizes. If you've never posted, or have just been quiet for a while, just fill out your profile and reply to this thread with some clever quip. You'll be entered, and just might get lucky this coming Friday.

Good luck!

Bill, You are a wise and cool guy. And thanks too to Jeff and C-Dory. I've got a chance at a Jacket once again!!!! And if I win the bottle opener, I will, well, have two. Robbi

Lookout folks -- El won a car once -- and the Ontario Lottery ($40, lest you think we're secretly rolling in it!) So -- she's sending vibes to the Nor'West.
Great idea, Bill -- and thanks to you again for organizing and managing such a great pub for all of us to share.

Great idea, Bill! Is this a replacement or a follow-up to the original guess the date we'll hit 1000 contest?

Well...B~C was behind that contest. So, unless B~C has some cool C-Brat goodies, I'm guessing the winner of that little competition is in for some smelt.

Congrats, Joe!

Bill-

Thanks for the reply!

Ken-

I think I'm going to pass on the smelt, so far I have a pretty good relationship with my Fed Ex, UPS, and USPS Mail persons!!! Might as well keep it up there were it can do some good!!!??? Joe.

Da Nerd, if you weren't so dam clever and funny, I should think I'd be offended. I would expect my dutiful Nerd Dues to at least place me in the running without hanging nads, administrative fraud or tossed ballots.

What a cool contest. I haven't posted for a long time, but I pop into the site now and then to see if there is a C-Dory 16 cruiser model for sale close by, but they seem rare as hen's teeth. I have exactly 17 months to go until I retire. At that time I'll be in the market for a C-Dory. I want to get in on the fun!

Do you mean hanging chads? Never mind...

Tis a great site, with good people. Still need to hook up with one of the gatherings......I was able to buy a Puget Sound chip for my Garmin 180, so I think I'm set. Regards all. Ron & Kathy
