Would there be any interest in a late gathering at Reed/Prevost Harbor on the last weekend in September. With the floating docks there should be enough space.
Hopefully there will have lifted the burn ban and we can bring firewood.
If there s enough interest I would be willing to host. Let me know.

With both docks and the floating docks in Reed Harbor I think we will be OK getting a place. Not sure if we can reserve a group campsite but I will find out.
I will be bringing firewood if the burn ban is over. If anyone would like to bring some I have plenty at my place if you can pick it up.
I will get ahold of DeNag/Tyboo about setting up an event sign up.
This time of year the weather usually is pretty good but you never know.

I would consider it. I am interested but I may have to be out of town and so cannot promise to come yet. If I am around, I will come.

I put in the required vacation at work. Now to just convince The Admiral...

Even if she doesn't or can't go, I'm in. Her work schedule is much harder when it comes to vacation.

We are just going to have to wait until 2018! We will be somewhere south of Chicago and north of Mobile around the end of September and beginning of October!

The park does not reserve camp sites that I can see for Stuart. So I thought that Robbin and I would get there on Thursday and register the campsite on the bluff above Prevost dock. That way we have a place to hang out and have the potluck.
With all the options for dock space, state floats and anchoring I think we should be fine.
Not sure how many folks can come but I think this could be a fun and little different gathering. Breakfast on the dock Saturday morning and the potluck Saturday evening with a campfire.
We only have three boats signed up so far but it is early yet.

Just a thought........

Fred, I probably should have known, but it didn't occur to me to "sign-up" for the Stuart Is Gathering until I read your last post. Perhaps there are others like me who responded to your initial "Would you be interested...." post, but didn't realize that an official event has been created for which one can add one's name by going to the "Event Signups" link.

What is the typical weather for the San Juans in early October? Cooler, I am sure, but as of this morning the old Wallas still works! How about wind and rain? We are thinking about sticking around for a week or so and would like to do some comfortable walking around the state park islands.

We would likely launch in Bellingham for the easy and cheap long term parking unless there are better suggestions. What do you think? It has been a while since I towed the boat up there. Seven years, I think.

Looking forward to this!
