Time to set the date for this annual event. How does the week of August 19-25 sound to everyone?

Mike,

The dates look good to me, I (or we) plan to be there. Maybe another dingy race perhaps?? (I'll bring the 'proper' ammunition this time)

If Dive Cat hasn't sold by then, Katy and I will be there. If she has sold, I'll make the sale contingent on the new owner participating in this event.

Looks like this one is official, so the Signup list is in place.

Catalina Island. It sounds exotic.

We think it's a go....Sue does not know when school starts next year... this years date was the first week of school so we could not go...but so far the date looks good for us.

Any dates look good for me. Its the Lil Rascals and Mom that I have to check with. I could sure use a week out there rotting on the back of my boat.

Hello Mike,

I would love to participate in this event. This site is the main reason I chose to get a C-Dory and would love to meet people who share my passion for them.
I am working that week though but see that the first and last days of your schedule are on Sunday and Saturday. Is it usual that some people make the complete week-end? If so, I wonder which full week-end most of you would be there?
Also, do you all go to Avalon and get moorings or do you find a cove somewhere?
Any fishermen in this group?

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I don't know that I'll make it to Catalina this year- I'm going up to Alaska the last 2 weeks of July for salmon and halibut. So I guess that answers one of your questions---- any fishermen?
We usually meet in Marina del Rey on Sunday and cross over on Monday. We go to Two Harbors and tie up on the string line for the week. Most of us head back on Saturday.
On Wednesday, we usually go for a day of fishing somewhere.
Last year I cruised straight from Channel Islands Harbor to Two Harbors ~60 miles of open water.

If you make any trips out to the Channel Islands, let me know.

Thanks for the info Roger.
Looks like i will not be able to join the Catalina party then :cry but one good thing has happened, I would love to go to the Channel Islands and re-learn some fishing techniques. As it gets warmer i will let you know when I will head out your way.

Jeff

Jeff,

There are usually some that go over early or later due to work-week conflicts as well. Every year is different. As for me, I won't know for sure the dates I'll attend until it's a few weeks away, I hope to do the whole thing. They/we go over on Sunday or Monday to avoid the crowds on weekends (Fri, Sat), works great for groups of boats (10+), also allows us to select spots where we're all together for socializing day and night. We always have a great time. Try to get there for at least a day or two, you won't be disappointed, I promise!

Steve,

Thanks for the positive note. I will continue then to keep an eye on this event and see if I can make it for at least one day.

I would enjoy meeting fellow C-Brats in my area.

Jeff

Hello to All-- are you planning on spending the whole week at Two Harbors on moorings or anchoring out? Is this gathering going to include a few nights in Avalon also?-------Thanks Rich

Rich,
We spend the week at Two Harbors on the string line. We tried to incorporate a side trip (and night) to Avalon a couple times-- too crowded. The group decided that Two Harbors was more conducive for the "laid back" atmoshere of the gathering.
Some times we take a day trip over to Avalon- fun trip on the "third world" bus ride.

Greetings to all...

As the newest C-Dory dealer for Southern California, I would like to let everyone know that Catalina YAcht Anchorage is fully committed to supporting all aspects of this gathering in Catalina. Our initial shipment of 7 C-Dory's leaves the factory early next week, so we will definitely have a boat available to join all of you in.

I am open to all ideas and suggestions as how we may help all of the loyal owners make this an event to remember.

I look forward to communicating with everyone.

Regards,
Bob Nahm
