That's right - Bratingham returns!

Da Nerd will take time from his busy retirement schedule to head this one up. Which won't be terribly difficult, as I ̶f̶o̶o̶l̶e̶d̶ convinced The Catman to help me out. Brock's so nice, I'll just sweet talk him into doing all the work.

Dates are Friday-Sunday, August 16-18 at Squalicum Harbor. I'll keep this thread updated with details, but we're confirmed with the Port.

And, as in years past...there will be an event with our pals and best C-Dory boat builders ever, NMI.

Don't miss this one! Signup sheet HERE.

Also, to keep important info in this thread in one place - I'll keep important updates in this top post in addition to spreading them out in replies.

---- Updates ----

- Cost is .75/ft/night, including power. You can pay when you arrive, no deposit/pre-pay required.

- No reservations needed, we've got the entire guest dock ("P" on this marina map) off Gate 9. That's 500' of moorage. If we fill up the dock, they'll do their best to put folks elsewhere if space is available.

- NMI Factory Tour! More details to come, but for now just know it's scheduled for Saturday morning (8/17) at 10AM.

For years Will's fallen for my nice guy act, but this time it backfired and I got netted and slapped smack atop the registration table. So now we're carving up duties, the retired guy and me, and we hope others might want to join us in Bellingham.

I always liked the Bellingham rendezvous. We reserve a long, well-protected dock, there's good showers and facilities, great marina with tons of boats to view, several shore side restaurants, including Anthony's, Lummi Fisheries Supply to throw money at, a college town to explore, and the C-Dory factory tour in historic Fairhaven. And if open Bellingham Bay cooperates and doesn't misbehave, the experience is even more fun and memorable. Yep, count me in. It'll likely be the start of a San Juan/Gulf Island vacation.
:hot

OK you guys, This one sounds fun, and Bellingham is my favorite place for one reason; one of my favorite C-Dory pix ever.

And if memory serves me right, even if the Bay is feeling a bit wild, we could all charter a big Foss tug, and follow it out inside it's hard wake. Knocks down all that washing machine stuff and makes flat water.

OR

we can just use or boats to their great advantage, and power out through the bay and get that great feeling of accomplishment as we overcome the force of tide and breeze.

Sounds like a great time to be had especially with the organization team we have lined up.

Now that I know it was all an act, I'm scared. The nice guy act is sooooo convincing, I'd hate to see your mean guy act.

I wonder if we could entice Tyboo on this one.
And Roger, ever seen a cat's face when he leaps for a distracted mouse? At last, fake mews is undisguised.

How nice of you to have a CBGT on my birthday, August 16! Presents not required, just the pleasure of your company! Patty and I will be there in Daydream! Pretty sure this is also the opening weekend of the 7N crabbing season, so the Squalicum launch is guaranteed to be busy. I think we'll be coming down from Blaine on Thursday. We are also members of the Squalicum Yacht Club, if there is any interest in using the clubhouse, let me know and I will see what the deal is!

How nice. Happy Birthday (early) Pat. Maybe we will have 2 cakes.

Ruth, is there such a thing as a "8 corner girl"?

Pat, delighted you two can come, and why do you think we scheduled the event on the date we did? You don't think that was coincidence, do you? It was in appreciation for all the Bellingham gigs you and Patti shepherded all those years.

I think the yacht club is an intriguing idea. I'll have the retired guy perform a cost/analysis and give us a report. But it sure was a hit in '07 when we used the Bellingham Yacht Club. Same building? Let's see how many Brats sign up and show interest. Otherwise, the dock is fine--and fun. But to have another venue like that could be groovy.

Actually it was the Squalicum Yacht Club we used in 2007 when the Lindhouts were there. It is the smaller building right next door to the (much larger) Bellingham Yacht Club!

I just mentioned this CBGT on another thread so thought I should bring it back up. Not too many signed up for it yet. Don't miss this one without a really good excu....or whoops  ah REASON

Joanie & I are coming with C Sharp and looking forward it! We even have some visitors coming, but we're leaving them to fend for themselves that weekend when we're in Bellingham.

Harvey, how about you? If you get Sleepy C back going by then?

Alright, team, so far we have 10 boats set for Bellingham just three weekends from now. That's a good number, and if anyone else wants to saddle up for the event of the decade, jump in.
Al and Karen, whom some of you haven't met, didn't sign up but are arriving in their 22' Cruiser named Life of Riley. They drove to Tennessee last month to collect it, and keep the boat near Squalicum Harbor.
Several of us are taking the following week off, and plan to splash northward into the Gulf Islands and beyond if the wind cooperates. I can't wait!

Awww...you're such a cute cheerleader, my feline friend.

Come on folks - join the party, fill up that signup sheet. Don't make me resort to Facebook posts again. :P

Melissa and Doug here!

We just adopted Luna C from Chris & Janet and have her in the Squalicum marina now. We’ll be joining in for the festivities and are excited about the NMI tour on the 17th.

Looking forward to meeting you all! Cheers!
